Heroic Opera’s fifth performance is Giuseppe Verdi’s Don Carlo. Set in the court of King Philip II during the Spanish Inquisition, Don Carlos is a story of love, jealously, betrayal, religion, and power. It is a play about freedom and human dignity of the age of enlightenment, which ignited the spark of inspiration in Verdi. Our production brings the classic tale with a modern twist, showing the danger of absolute power and corruption at the highest levels.
